When people ask me if I think Sports Talk Radio in English can work in Israel, I immediately answer…YES! There are few things in this world that transcend race, culture, religion, gender and socio-economic status quite like sports.

Our goal at Israel Sports Radio is two fold. One, we intend to bring the Anglo-Community in Israel a closer bond to Israeli Sports, while not forgetting the teams they left behind in America. We feel sports are a very important factor in the socialization process of the new oleh. We envision our listener choosing an Israeli team(s) to follow, cheering them on and discussing the results not only with us on the radio, but the Sabra on the street. We also plan to create a station that allows you the listener to call in and talk about your NBA, NFL, MLB or NHL team of choice with us, and some of the biggest names in sports from around the world. Secondly, we want to bring the spirit of sports in Israel to fans around the world. We will bring Israelis, Jews and supporters of Israel the best live action and sports talk to help keep them connected or reconnect them to Israel.
Our plan is to bring Israel Football League (American Football in Israel) to our listeners as well as Basketball Super League (BSL) action. Our talk programming will connect listeners with shows about niche sports such as Women’s Flag Football, fitness, Israel Football League and more. Along with niche sports programming we will bring you the best in sports talk on topics ranging from American Sports to Israeli Sports to British Premier League.

Israel may be a small nation, but we have so much to offer. We hope you listen in and are able to feel the spirit of our great country come through your computer by way of sports. We at Israel Sports Radio will not rest until we have achieved our mission of “Building love of Israel, One Sports fan at a time!

Hello Andy,

By way of introduction my name is Corey Vyner. My wife and I have just moved to Israel via Toronto, trying to enhance the game of Softball (and baseball) here in this great country.

I have been playing Softball in the Maccabi Games since 1985. I have also played all over the world. A friend of mine just sent me an email about your site. I am looking forward to hearing you guys.

My dream (our dream – Friends of the Field) is to help build a National Stadium for Softball, consisting of two fields, most likely in the Menashe Region. With the help of many friends in Canada and The USA, we are just waiting for land approval to get going. If all works out well, we will also try to build a National Baseball Stadium up here, but that is our secondary goal.

Keep up the great work guys…I will spread the “Israelsportsradio Gospel” to all my friends, not that I have many only one month into our Aliyah :) .

Corey
