Weekend “Football” Prediction
As we promised to predict the outcomes of the weekend premier league matches on a weekly basis here comes our weekend predictions for the 6-8/11/2010 weekend games. Sadly no one managed to predict the outcomes of last weekend’s games and a big thanks to those who posted their predictions. Remember, to win an exclusive IsraelSportsRadio t-shirt all you have to do is post your predictions below. Get them all right and we will send you the t-shirt free of charge, no matter where you are in the world
Last weeks predictions segment went particularly well for me, correctly guessing the outcome of 5 of the 9 games that were played. Ben on the other hand got only 3 correct and is boasting a record just slightly inferior to flipping a coin to guess the outcome of the weekend games.
This week brings us two encounters which were played just last week in the carling cup – Manchester United host Wolves and Arsenal host the north-west Magpies; Newcastle. The last game between United and Wolves was played just last week at old Trafford where United managed to scrape a last minute winner via the newly-found superstar Javier Hernandez, AKA Chicharito. United still suffer some injuries to some of their first team players in the likes of Rio Ferdinand and Wayne Rooney. Smallings or Evans (I hope the former) will replace the England skipper in the center of defense and Chicharito is likely to start alongside in-form Dimitar Berbatov.
In the Emirates we will see 2nd place and in-form Arsenal host newly promoted and inconsistent Newcastle. Arsenal will be returning from Wednesdays Champions league game in the Ukraine so Wenger might choose to give some of his stars a rest. Newcastle will be coming on the back of a HUGE derby win against arch-rivals Sunderland. It will be interesting to see the outcome of that one….
In another major (???) game we see League-toppers Chelsea make a visit to Anfield. Liverpool has in the past few weeks raised their league performances and will be hoping to prove they’ve still got it against steam-rollers Chelsea. What will happen there?? Let us know but WE think Chelsea will make the drive back to London with the upper hand.
Here are our full weekly predictions, and we look forward to seeing your predictions. Good luck and remember to tune in every Monday 5-7pm Israel time 3-5pm GMT to Ben and Gady On The Volley for all your news, views and reviews in the wonderful world of soccer.
